You guys both talk too damned much.

Edited to add, I polished the sterling on a Bannard wonderwood this afternoon, and filled it with TR, seems to smoke much better with shiny metal.

It's the residual baking soda and vinegar you left behind that's making that Ten Russians better, Jon.

McC 2035 in an umpolished Falcon. I like this blend sans Flitz. :)

D, grab a sharp or fairly new 1/8", 9/64", & 9/32 general purpose drill bits. Sharper or newer the better.

Smoke your pipe again to get things warm and softer, maybe, then when cool enough to breakdown, just grab the stem and tenon ( leave them together) and with pliers, vise grips or a vise or jacobs chuck...can hold the bit in the chuck of a drill but use no power!...do it by hand!) start the 1/8" drill and manually and slowly, drillout to 1/8". You'll know when you hit stem with the drill since it will be a change in drill feel and sound. Scratchy rather than smooth as when it's cutting the delrin tenon. Smoking the pipe prior to allows for a slightly moist airway to lube the drill as it's cutting. IF you feel you have plenty of room re: thickness of tenon wall, go for the 9/16"! But clean out the smokeway between drillings.

If by chance you screw up, you are only out a tenon. $1-2, woof!

I've done this meself to all my meers that were not that open, SMS, CAO Bekler, Hakan, Yanik, and all other meers in The White Godess lineup that aren't IMP or already have a nice open tenon. Made gurglers into meers that are hard to put down to meers that already smoked great into phenomenal White Vixens! Omg! If we were closeby, i'd bore em out in front of you over a bowl! Doesn't take long to do.

About two hours ago I finally got around to trying a bowl of Esoterica's "And So to Bed" of which I received a sample by way of a trade. Sort of an awkward name for a blend, but the tobacco itself is my kinda smoke! I loved everything about it. The cut and moisture were both dead on perfect, it was complex, had a nice presence of latakia but not overwhelming, nice medium bodied smoke...I can't wait for the next bowl of it! Also have a sample of Margate I have yet to try, and am looking forward to quite well.

I gotta say, I love Penzance, but until now it was the only Esoterica blend I'd tried. I am excited to see there's some other great blends from them which are far more readily available, and dare I say more approachable as well.
