This might be a good blend to add to the upcoming reviews section...

Todd, when you say "deep smooth English", would you say it's lighter than OD? And can you taste the Turkish at all? Thanks!

GLP Robusto in a Peterson Celtic 69 which I've dedicated to English blends.

This Robusto is like a vintage heavy-bodied Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon... not for everyday drinking, but everytime you drink some other red wine, it haunts your memories.

finally, a verdict on WO larsen Old Fashioned:
smoked it in my brand new Comoy Tawny saddle... A) new pipe is a great smoker, :lolu: WOLOF is a great smoke. kinda missed the mark on in the last two pipes i had it in, but after a lightly packed bowl of it in the new comoy i can say it burned very evenly, smoked reasonably dry and cool, didn't bite at all this time, and the aroma was absolutely lovely. Generally i find about 90% of aromatics sickly sweet and overpowering nasally, but this was just a nice mellow smoke with a hint of noccello flavor and a tiny bit of sweetness more than what i'd call natural for a VA/Burley mix. great bloody stuff.
    thanks ruggers!

Now that it's had a couple of days to dry just a tad, I'm going to have a bowl of 1999 vintage Bombay Court in my basket-weave meerschaum.
Accompaniment - Strong black Assam tea with honey.
