So tonight was another night celebrating 1792. Not owning an espresso machine, I opted for tea, and I did so with Gerry in mind!

Let me first say that Earl Grey is not something I would recommend as an accompaniment to 1792. I won't say, "Don't try it!", but I must comment that bergamot and tonquin were not the best combination for my taste buds! Having that experience under my belt, I switched to Irish Breakfast. I know, I know...it was evening, not morning. But I eat eggs & bacon for supper on occasion, and after the first 1792 & tea attempt, I needed something more straightforward. This pairing was a winner in my book. The strength and astringency of the Irish Breakfast made for a nice contrast to the sweet and silky texture of the 1792. It was a good way to spend part of the evening.

Next time, I'll perhaps try an Assam Black tea. Or maybe stop for that espresso on the way home. Oh! For a Turkish coffee pot!

    Good luck Carl!!

I'm trying out a blend of Old Dublin + Spilman Mixture in my Peterson Celtic bent billiard... it's got potential!
