Esoterica Pembroke in a Large Lewis Carved Billiard... first smoke of this blend... English with Cognac ... I'm very impressed... liking right from the start.

Seems to be a medium English.

My wife had the weekend off...the looongest weekend in my life! Finally got around to some Kendal Flake in a MM Patriot. Grilling steaks and drinking beer to accompany a 'cathartic' smoke.

Just finishing my first bowl of Stonehaven in a Large Lewis Billiard...

I can certainly see what all the fuss is about in regard to Stonehaven... an EXCELLENT blend... (I let it dry for over an hour... was very moist right from the bag.)

Goes very well with a little Jameson Gold

Early I blended and smoked a blend of SG Chocolate Flake and Ashton's Smooth Sailing and it was decent.
Think I am going to try now some MacBaren Vanilla Cream blended with Peterson's Deluxe Mixture (in my Jobey).
Kinda been doing blends in the Jobey and Virginia's in the Pete lately.

Rattrays bagpipers dream again, in my homemade designated boozetoby bent apple while shovelling snow. Damn that was a good smoke. Well not techniqally but flavourwise.

It was my first try with the cannonball filling method and I packed it to hard. It was not like sucking a golfball through a garden hose but it took quite an effort to feed oxygen to the hearth and I did have trouble lighting it at first, but once it got going it stayed lit mostly. I could not tamper it, but I poked a hole through the crust with the "needle" in the pipe tool and then it was all easy peasy, making the rest of the bowl a pure delight. It smoked dry, stayed cool and what is most important, I felt the cognac all the way to the end of the bowl.

I look forward to experiment more with this filling method.

Breaking in my Brebbia Ninja with GLP Embarcadero.

Damn disappointing, but there's an aftertaste from the stain in the bowl and the shank! I also found some pits inside the bowl, just under the rim... [IMG]

Currently I am smoking Peterson's Irish Oak tobacco. It's beautiful. One of my favourites thus far in my pipe-smoking... 'career'? :P
