Back from taking a sick cat to the vet this morning, so smoking my first full load of the day, Three Blind Moose in the Sasieni 4Dot. Had a couple of half fills of PA and 1Q earlier, but was running around and relighting all morning. This one's going right to the bottom on one match.

Just read an interesting statistic: Pipe smokers have an average of 389 nanograms of cotinine (a nicotine metabolite), cigarette smokers 306 and cigar smokers a sissy 121.

And see what that did to your sinuses!

Smoking some P&W 524 in a Rosslare 69, what an excellent blend! Carole's tribute to Balkan Sobranie... this is the last pouch of P&W from Jon, I finished up the 400 and the 622 previously... and what a wonderful exploratoin it has been! Tried out these blends in different pipes to see what works best, and comparing the 3 blends to each other has been a learning experience. Will post detailed notes when the 524 has been thoroughly explored :bing:

Some SG Squadron Leader in a no name rusticated bent apple basket pipe (my first pipe) and actually a decent smoker. Got a glass of McClelland Highlands Single Malt to sip with it.

This is my first try on Squadron Leader, I like it.

(In my best 'bitchy', 'queeny' voice......Wuuuuuussssiieeeee!)

Tambo is a burleyish version of Black Rope, to my mind, anyway. I like the VA stab at it better, to be sure, but both can be fun! (Hell, dp, I mixed Tambo with McC 2015....my nose probably ran worse than yours is...wanna compare booger 'ropes'? I'm game... :eek:hyeah: )

Oh, well...off to pansy land...Irish Flake in the Falcon, a Colt .45 8.5% alc. 24oz. to chase.

Breaking in a natural finish cob with some MV1000. Coke on the side which is a pretty good compliment to the caramel notes of the tobacco.

Also my first taste of the MV1000 and I like it pretty well for an inexpensive bulk blend. It's like CB gold without all the humicant. Burns much better as well.

About to keep rolling with are Lord of the Rings Marathon in honor of J.R.R. Tolkien's birthday today. Watching Two Towers with a bowl of OGS in my Savineli. Apparently OGS is a very close toby to Capstan Medium Flake which is what Tolkien smoked while writing the series.

Damn, I should have smoked some
in his honour. Yes, I have some Capstan
Medium (in the blue tin). At least, I
believe the Original used to be the
Medium, and the Gold was called
    the Mild.

Just finished up some Orlik Luxury
in a Castello nat. vergin billiard

How the hell do you find out these odd chunks of trivia? Wish I had some Hobbit Weed or something, so I could join in the celebration, but since I don't about the closest thing I have to stuff of that ilk is Chipman Hill. So Chipman Hill it is in the TwoDot!
