Whalehead King's thread about MM Macs and Generals made me wonder why I've ignored my General recently, so I again dug deep in the cellar and pulled out some Founders Reserve / The Malthouse from Dan Tobacco and stuffed it full. It was in my regular rotation many years ago when I was making my first forays into tinned tobacco. I always kinda classed it as a good beginners tobacco for those who want to move from aros to more natural tasting tobaccos, and it is, but it's a very good smoke in it's own right. I wonder why I've ignored this too.

Five Bros. in a beater cob. Sometimes this is just the perfect combination.

    Not tonight, though. :)

Apparently it's a house blend from a tobacconist in San Francisco, a latakia blend from my blind test. End of the bowl in, of course, my Ben Wade Canadian.

The UPS guy finally got here! Half a bowl of Stanwell Melange in my brand spankin new Stanwell Zebrano billiard. Really sharp looking little pipe, super lightweight (great clencher!) and absolutely flawless construction as far as I can tell. Passes a cleaner effortlessly and just everything about it is EXACTLY what I'd hoped for!

This will be THE lunch-break pipe, for sure. The melange actually DOES taste just like it smells, which is a lot more caramel and a lot less fruit than I expected. But I really like it! Happy smoker here!:puffy:

Edit: oh wait, there's some fruit! The flavors keep switching up on me with this blend!

Congrats to the fellas who just received new pipes! It's always exciting (to me, at least), firing up a new one...the whole idea that ' this one' could be a future favorite, a companion to keep me entertained for the rest of my days...

...Or maybe not. But still, it's fun figuring it out! :)

Smoking PS LBF (with the eyes...yich) in a Manxland apple meer. A Dog Bite lager on the side.

After at least a month of having cracked the seal, my tin of Skiff Mixture is finally to a point where I can smoke it without drying first. Now on fire in a Bari Squash. I sure love my Baris!

It's an aromatic evening. Full bowl of Melange in the no-name basket pipe. This stuff is good, but I'm glad the Stanwell I bought was rather on the small side...this stuff is very sweet!
