In the Ben Wade Canadian this morning: Peter Stokkebye Proper English.

Tonight....that's a tough call. Either McClelland Oriental Blend No. 14, or Star of the East. I've had Star of the East before, but I reeeeeally want to try this 14...heck, I'll probably go for that, knowing me, but we'll see soon enough :)

Mornin' folks, currently enjoying some Captain Black White label in a MM legend. Coffee is black and the sky is grey whilst overlooking Cathlamet bay. Bald Eagle's out in force, competing with Osprey for breakfast.

McClelland Oriental Mixture No. 14 in my Savinelli Tevere. I probably could stand to give it just a little more air time before smoking it, and it's biting very slightly. That said its my first taste of it, and also my first time smoking with the adapter rather than the filter on this pipe, so I don't know what either of those may do to impact that issue. That said, the flavor is great and there is every indication that I'll grow to truly love this blend. It's one I've been meaning to try for a long time now :)

Edit: just now in the last quarter of the smoke, and considering the rather shallow bowl this is impressive. Probably one of the longest smokes I've gotten from this bowl. This stuff has only gotten richer as I've smoked it, and a mild (and not too sweet) cocoa-like quality has emerged from it's hiding place. I like this stuff already! Just enough latakia to add intrigue without detracting from the Oriental highlights (or even to mask any of the qualities of the top notch Virginias in this blend!)

Tried some Ferndown Yellow and Brown in my Sav Roma on Nesta's recommendation. A good Virginia tang tastefully supplemented by some solid Orientals, giving it the taste of a mild English blend at times. I thought I might have even got a little shot of Perique in there, but it could be a ghost. Can't remember what I smoked in that pipe last...

It smoked nice and easy while I tackled a little garage-improvement project.
