I guess technically its still morning, though for less than another half hour....anyway, good morning! Just lit up McClelland Oriental Blend No. 14 in my Johs bulldog. Cream soda on the side, and just had a delicious, high-sodium brunch consisting of a whole white wheat bun, a slice of tomato (to make it healthy), a slice of dill pickle, and jumbo hot dog sauteed in olive oil until crisp on the outside, topped with Gulden's mustard, diced onion and sauerkraut. I'm content!

Full belly, a cold pop, and a pipe full of McClelland goodness

Well it's evening no. 3 of "Smokin OP's: The Nitehawk Edition". (Nitehawk and I traded some samples, which I'm trying on successive evenings) Though I didn't post last night's episode, I got to try some Wessex Brigade Champagne Dark Flake in my DiMonte. That was some really tasty dark Virginia, let me tell you. A nice tangy, full Virginia flavor, without any bite. I'd buy a tin or two of that for sure.

Tonight, I have some Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake rubbed out in one of my Savinelli Linea 76's. I've sampled a few different Va/Pers in the last few weeks, and I thoroughly enjoy all of them that I've tried, but LNF strikes me as extremely well balanced and very easily likable. The Virginia component is very light and hay-like, with just a touch of sweetness, while the Perique asserts itself from time to time in a most pleasant way, making every sip a little adventure.

My first impression: At the price point, you really should have some (like at least 4oz) in your cellar if you appreciate a good Va/Per, but the flavor would easily justify the cost if it were sold by the tin. Fantastic!

Thanks again to Nitehawk for the stellar tobaccos, and to PSF for making this hobby so much fun!

Middletons Cherry - for the first time (courtesy of Ruffinogold - thanks John!) in a MM Patriot. I keep saying - I don't like this type of baccy, but am enjoying this one - it's good, not too heavy on the casing.
