I would go higher than the $40-$60 that I voted for but only if it was for a pipe that I would normally buy.

Jeebs no decision or official discussion of pipemaker selection has begun.

Last year Bill (Kaywoodie CEO) personally made the pipes, on his weekends, for $50 each. Many people are enthusiastic about going that direction again, and perhaps we will, but at this point we're still trying to figure out our budget. Then we can go shopping.

Let's make it so more of us can enjoy the POY experience. I think $40 to $60 should be doable without the numbering feature; we got a great looking pipe last year within this price range. I think numbering is fun but, with as few pipes as we order, the collective value is still there. Besides, the little card stating how many POY pipes were made is good enough for most of us.

60-80 seems to be not cheap. 40-60 is acceptable but maybe not for something that is going to be a keepsake. 80-100 seems a tad high for everyone to jump in. I like the middle range (60-80) because it seems reasonable while giving a reason to splurge for something special, which this promises to be, but not splurge so much that it might cause regrets. It hurts me to spend more than 100 dollars for a pipe. It hurts much less to spend less, even for a good pipe that I'll cherish.

Spill, just to make sure that I understand: Do you want people to post their vote in this thread or just vote and not post?
(See my sig for the reason for this question.)

Ok, I think I understand. We are supposed to vote in this thread, but not post it, unless we want to tell people why we voted the way we did, in which case we post it here. No no, that's not right. Make sure the Prince doesn't leave this room until I come and get him.

Voted for the $60-$80 range. There is such a vast amount of folks from all walks of life here at PSF, various stations in life--financial and such. I figure it would be best to keep a price tag that is in the middle of the road so as many as want a pipe of the year can afford one. Lets face we all have different likes and dislikes from low price tag pipes right up to high cost pipes. Not everyone can afford to spend a ton--some can. I feel its better to make or offer a pipe that is at least easier to obtain financially--the middle ground so to speak--not so cheap that the pipe is bottom of the barrel quality but not so expensive that some folks who may desire to get one cannot due to cost. Just my humble opinion.
