    Has anyone tried this weed?

So far, Im digging CH and PA and I find myself looking for the lesser know or what I call "bottom shelf" OTCs. Not meaning theyre bad, but theyre types larger companies sell in small numbers. Like the soda TAB :hippie:

    EDIT:
    Sorry its Troost, not Troot.

Would that be the one that bears a suspicious family resemblance to Holland House ( of unhappy memory ) and Clan with the signature style of fast burning, hot smoking, where's the sodding flavour gone? Don't it smoke thin? fame?

    Best to all

I'd be very interested in a review here at PSF of this weed. I came across it today on the net and I was so impressed by the reviews here Troost Reviews

that I tried tacking on a pouch on with my smokingpipes order that I placed yesterday afternoon. But alas, they had already shipped my order.

There are actually two Troosts....the RR that we find here in the States and the Flake, found only across the pond. After my so-so experiences with the former, a good friend here brought me two pouches of Troost Flake from his trip to Germany.....night and day. Troost RR isn't a "bad" tobacco, just rather unsophisticated and monochromatic. Slices on the other hand, were (yep..."were"....they're all gone)a pleasant smoke for a Va/Bur, with a bit of a casing I couldn't identify. While I wouldn't fly to Holland to get it, I'd buy it and keep it in my rotation if it were available here....nice change-up smoke.

I've read about it being monochromatic and I've also read about it being fabulous. I didn't know why there was such a discrepancy. This explains it. Thanks!

I suppose this thread could have been named "Troost or dare!" [IMG]

I've tried Troost Slices and their rubbed out version (both were pouches) and for the money paid, I won't be buying anymore. Once, for me, with this toby is enough. Not fond at all of it but didn't hate it. If it was all I had, I'd smoke it.

Well, now you've done it, I gotta go dig up those pouches and see if there are any redeeming changes. Will post if so. Otherwise, save the dead prezies for better toby.

I bought some out of nostalgia. My guitar teacher from 8th grade through college smoked it. Although I do remember the day he said they changed it. It was no longer available here in flakes.
