I thought "Maxima" meant "black" but apparently it means

    huge

Top left, a smallish Peterson 303. Bottom left, a mid-size MdP. Top right is a really big pipe - bigger than what you mostly find at the pipe shop, the Peterson 140th Anni. And Bottom right.... a Ser Jac Maxima.

Time to start buying the 100g tins, I guess!

What's the diameter and the chamber depth? Is it straight or tapered? Inquiring minds want to know...

"Nero" is the Italian word for black. Pronounced Nay-ro. Not to be confused with the jacket you've got in the back of your closet. "Grande" is large. Starbucks calls their small coffees grande, but they're liars.

If you are in a Starbucks, "Vento" means wind in Italian. I can't figure out what I'm ordering there and it never tastes good anyway. I hope the pipes serve you well.

That one on the bottom right looks maxissimo!

One reason I wanted a huge pipe was that I mostly smoke flake, and when I smoke loose cut, I find it smokes real fast and I want more! So this is gonna be a loose cut "tweaked" Virginia pipe - lightly aromatic virginias like Tordenskjold. First bowl: Virginia Woods

There ya go! That's what you call "Sas' Big Black Egg", it's a Va-roaster!

You're gonna enjoy that one me thinks.

The reason why I asked about the size of the bowl is because I just got an estate Sav that measures 26mm diameter by 35mm depth and I wanted to see if mine was wider than yours :thumbsu:

Even if yours is wider, I bet I can still pee farther :velho:

Anyway, congrats on your new Maxima!

This one is 23 wide by about 60 deep. Think "thumb".

I have 1 wider pipe, over an inch wide, and about 1 3/4 deep, but that's pushing into the realm of too wide for me, or perhaps it requires a different packing technique. Anyway, this thing's smoking great. Still.

I know. It's amazing isn't it? It's a Savinelli Champagne 316 EX (bigger than KS). It's supposed to hold up to 5 grams LOL. It's a pot shape. I'm going to use it for OGS, maybe some 2010 as well.

smokingpipes stated that it was 23.37mm wide. But I just measured it myself. It tapers, thank goodness! :thumbsu:
