I walked the show in Columbus with Puff and mentioned to him that I wanted a large pipe. He was very helpful in showing pipes that were beautiful and out of my price range. While we were all sitting around the unofficial PSF table, I mentioned to him that I had seen a large estate pipe at a local shop, but do to the fact the carver was unknown, I had left it at the shop. He then explained to me what the important things to look at were and if they were all there, it was a good buy.

Well, I innocently went back to that shop tonight with a friend of mine. It is his birthday this week so I was going to get him a tin of tobacco, his choice. Unfortunately for my wallet, I noticed that the pipe was still there.

Nice pipe! Smoke that big-girl nice and slow. Well, you got your coffee-table pipe, now you need to find a leash for it (and collar)!

Congratz! I knew you were gonna do something like that the way you talked about that Huge Pete just as you entered the show. You sounded like it was gonna be that one or some other one. I guess this pipe is "the other" one! Cool. Was she already re-furb'd? Looks like the previous owner took good care of her.

    Enjoy!

Yes, she was already cleaned. The shop cleans them before sale. Took 2.5 hours to smoke and still had left over Toby. Will find out soon just how long it takes.

What a beut! Happy birthday and happy smoking!
I love it with the Ale too, that's good pipe-porn. :thumb:
And in that spirit, I'll throw and Pipe'n'ale pic in there too :groucho:

Edit: I just re-read and saw that it's HIS birthday (I'll blame the lack of concentration while reading on that pic!), so you'll have to extend those congratulations to your friend instead, but the happy smoking still stands ;)
