Picked up this Aran #87 today from JR's in Burlington. I went planning to get a bulldog but I really liked how this one looked in person. Enjoying my first bowl now.

Don't be surprised if it takes quite awhile to break it in. I have three Petes, and I remember wondering if they would ever get there. Now they're among my favorites.

    Nice looking pipe.

I'm glad you said that. I've really only smoked estate pipes that were already broken in.

I just finished a half bowl and it was smoking hot and a little wet, I guess some of that could be tobacco choice too. I'm up to the challenge of smoking alot of tobacco to get it right though. :D

Nice, Pete's always have classic lines, and the Aran finish is beautiful, I have a 268 zulu that is one of my favorite pipes. Enjoy!

+1. I have two Petersons, both Kapets. One is still in the break-in stage and taking it's sweet time. It's getting there, slowly but surely.

That's a great looking pipe! I'd like another Peterson pipe - I'm thinking the next will either be straight or a Zulu. So far I have an 03 (still breaking in) and a 68 (very reliable smoker!)

Looks like a good one. I must admit that I like my Petes even better than the Dunhills.

Great looking pipe! I love Petes and they are the only briar pipes I own. Treat her well and you'll have a lifetime of good smoking ahead of you!

Exactly! Bought my first Pete over a month ago (Aran xl 90) and just got it broke in this week. I was about to give up on it. Glad I hung in there. One of my best smokers now.
