I think the pipe is a Kapet 56.00$ at smoking pipes so what you got left is a 24.00$ zippo thats about right. I don't think your getting a great bargan. But if you like them both go for it.
I bought a set a couple of years ago before I realized what the lower end petes coast. I wouldn't do it again.

Glad you posted that. I had seen the set but never looked for the pipe by itself.

I got the Zippo/Peterson Sherlock Holmes set a few years back for around 60 bucks! It's a System Standard 303, and is a great pipe!

The set that I've seen for that price is a Donegal Rocky 106, with sterling silver band. I have the slightly smaller pipe in 06 and it's one of my favorites.

I have a few of these sets. I just like that they say zippo on the band.

It was a brand new set I got off Ebay a few years back. It might have even been less than that. I was the only bidder......

I just orders the same set from somewhere in England. It was not that cheap, but I was late to the party.

That's the set I have. It has a nickle band that sais ZIPPO, It's a 106 stamped donegal rocky but it has a dark brown stain like the kapet model not the red that the doegals have now & the rustication looks just like the Kapets for sale at smoking pipes. I still say you could buy a comparable pipe of your chioce & zippo of your choice for as much or lower than they are asking for that particular set.
    Just my 0.02$

Well I guess that makes sense. I think I paid around $70 for my Donegal Rocky 6 w/ sterling silver band. Thanks for the clarification. Even though I have a 6, I've contemplated buyin that set several times.

I've been building my own gift sets since I started down this road. The key is to have a few:drunk: before you order so that when it comes in the mail its a surprise.:bday:
