    absolutely right on both counts. I was in Chicago last Feb and ended up buying two Petes and two meers at Iwan Ries. Great place!

    While I certainly like the idea of supporting local businesses, sometimes the prices in B&M's can be more than one could find on the internet. Plus the seld selection is obviously going to be a lot better online. So far all of my pipes are from B&M's and I have one ebay purchase that is in the mail from Ireland (pete 303), and I think that I will be buying most of my pipes in the future through the internet, and maybe even some of these awesome forum custom makers. You could spend the $100+ on a perterson from the B&M or spend the same money on a custom made pipe and support a small maker. I think I know what I'll be doing next time lol
