    Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but Iw as wondering if anyone knows of any pipe shows, swaps, clubs, meeting or anything of that nature in Minnesota? I would love to buy a pipe from a local maker or find a good local(ish) tobacconist shop or anything of that sort in Minnesota. I live in Duluth, but travel to the twin cities about once a month or so to visit relatives, so im open to pretty much anything in Minnesota, and am looking for nice pipes and tobacco. Thanks in advance!

    -Chris

The Great Northern Pipe Club meets monthly and has a nice little swap that I attend every year in February. World class collector Mr. Tony (Mr.Can on eBay)Soderman is in charge of the club. Rich Lewis is a very well known pipe maker he has a shop in a cool art deco looking building in downtown Mpls. Rich by the way is doing this years NASPC pipe. Frank Storm and at least one other guy who's name slips my mind are good pipe MN makers who make a more budget minded pipes than Rich.

I went to one of their swap-meets in Maplewood earlier this year, it was pretty small, but still had a ton of really cool stuff. I was able to pick up a couple tins of very old tobacco.

There were even a few pipe makers there, couldn't afford any of their pipes though!

My favorite B&M is the Golden Leaf in St Paul, the Minneapolis location is much smaller.

That's fantastic, that you very much! I think my new favorite store will be the Golden Leaf in Minneapolis, I don't get into St. Paul very often, but it looks incredible. Any idea when and where the next swap/show will be in Minnesota? I would very much like to attend.

Im making a trip to the Twin Cities Tomorrow and have directions mapquested to "The Golden Leaf" in St. Paul http://www.goldenleafsmokeshop.com/ . Im very excited and hoping to pick up my first briar, or at least maybe a couple of tins and cigars.

I thought about hitting up Jonathan Robert Feilding & Co http://www.jrfandco.com/jrf/home in St. Paul, who has made some very informative videos on youtube about pipes and cigars http://www.youtube.com/user/JRFandCo

But the golden leaf shop is a little closer to where I will be going, and It looks as though their selection is probably the biggest and the best in Minnesota.

Im very excited, and thanks to everyone for the heads up on these Minnesota B&M's :groucho:

I made a trip down to the "GoldenLeaf" in Minneapolis today, and this one is even better than the St. Paul location. I brought some mason jars and loaded them up with:

    Morning Paper (EMP clone)
    6pm News (dunhill 965 clone)
    After Hours (dunhill nightcap clone)
Oak Bog (house blend English, employee personal blend)
    McClelland Red Cake
Barrel 'o Nuts (house blend aro, my girlfriend picked for herself)
Butternut Cream (house blend aro, my girlfriend picked for herself)

    Also got a couple tins:
    Escudo
    Erinmore Mixture

As well as an "everyman" full bent pipe, and a couple cigars out of the humidor room

If anyone is in Minnesota I would definetely recommend the Golden Leaf shops, they are fantastic, lots and lots of house blends and bulks in jars, as well as tins and a really good selection of pipes with everything from MM Cobs to Dunhills and Meers. They will also be stocking dunhill tins as soon as possible, one employee has 20 tins pre-ordered for himself!
