    Cobs are good for samples and I dig clay as well ... small and cheap and yer good to go

    Cobs smoke light and airy, and clays smoke hot. Neither gives a good representation of a tobacco in my opinion. That said, I would go with a cob for testing, as they are cheap and disposable.
