Ok Im seeking help from the members on this forum. Im wanting to purchase a new pipe, and I have narrowed it down to two makers and cant decide which one please help I can only afford one? The makers are Jake Hackert, and Joe Case. I have seen all the videos on ebay and they both look like they make a great pipe please tell me which one you guys would choose?

    Welcome to PSF

I think in that range, I'd go for a Mark Tinsky, Sasquatch (Briar Sweat & Tears), or a Simeon Turner before either of those.

If I had to pick between Hackert and Case, I'd pick the Hackert.

Don't forget Andrew Staples here. He commissioned me one of the nicest Volcano pipes I have ever seen.

Sorry to hijack the thread... but those are nice. That volcano looks like a work of art. I also like the black billiard on page 3! :bing:

The Hackerts are unique, but I will buy a Sas first.

FWIW, I just got an email from Jake Hackert and he isn't taking any new orders until 2013. He did recommend however, to watch eBay for his pipes, because he will sometimes post some up for sale. Your best bet is to keep an eye out on the secondary market or watch eBay. I'll be in touch with him in early 2013 because I REALLY want one of his customs.

Good luck trying to get your hands on a hackert anytime soon. Like said he isnt taking orders currently, and the last ones that were on eBay stuck around for about 30 mins before they were gone.
I don't own a sas but I've heard nothing but great things about his pipes.
