Been traveling latly and bought some of my usual PS in Oklahoma. Had a few bowls there and everything was normal. Got back to Wisconsin a week or so later and lit up. All I can say is it tasted like rotten acorns and even smelled different. Tried a different clean pipe and got the same bitterness. All I can think of is maybe the plastic bag it was in somehow tainted it. Anyone else have this happen? 8oz of toby down the drain...

Could it have acquired mold? That would certainly do it. Baggies aren't airtight, so it certainly may have been the problem.

I've never had that happen before. Sounds like maybe a bad batch? Where in Oklahoma did you get it? I'll know where NOT to buy any PS toby :)

I might also guess mold. That rotten acorns smell could be mold. Sorry.

That really is too bad! I like the PS LTF a lot. Tastes great, burns well, decent nicotine.

Its not dry either. I like it alot, but now I'm afraid to try any more. I don't understand why it was fine out of the jar and in a week went to hell. I got it in Owasso (I think I spelled that right)

You didn't pack it with your dirty socks did you?

Did it ever sit in the sun?
Had you stored another type of tobacco in the same bag prior?

If you did nothing abnormal, I'd call the store & see if they would send you a new batch.

It could be your sense of taste or body chemistry is off. I would mason jar it for a few weeks and then come back to it. It is a good blend and one worth making an effort to see if your taste for it comes back.

This is a possibility. It happened to me with a medication. I couldn't smoke a pipe for a week without it tasting foul. When my palate returned, everything was great again.

Put it aside and try again in a couple weeks.

It was stored in the same bag from the store. I thought of the chemistry thing since I just had some shots in my back, but that wouldnt have anything to do with it smelling different. I usualy store everything in plastic but I'll have to try mason jars.
