    My Fellow Pipe Smokers!

It's been awhile since I posted, life and all's keeping me busy, and all is well!
My dad recently quit smoking (thank the Lord! Over 50 years of cigarettes). Given that he will no longer be needing it, and hasn't used it in maybe 30 years besides, I laid claim to this pretty little paneled billiard. Buffed and polished the stem (which was olive drab green with oxidation). Polished the briar. And I think it looks quite nice.

    The pipe is stamped
    SIR ROBERT
    Algerian Briar
    France

I tried google and pipedia.org, no dice. Couldn't even find one up on e-bay under this name. Does anybody know anything about this brand? I know it's nothing high dollar. Dad probably bought it at a gas station or something. But any back story on the company would be nice. I'm just thrilled that I've got one of my daddy's pipes!

    Happy Smoking

I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title of this thread. That's a great looking pipe. I have an old Algerian briar pipe and it smokes amazingly. Can't help you with the ID but I reckon you've got yourself a nice little pipe there.

P.S. I'm glad you're happy with you who you are.

    Thanks.
It smokes good and was my papa's, which is pretty much all I care about. :)

Why the "France" stamp? I don't know much about LHS.

It does have a stinger in it that can be unscrewed.
The France stamp makes me curious as well if they were an American company.

My first guess (and only a guess) was that it might be a Chacom second. Do you have an up-close photo of the stamping?
