Resto - a bit odd.

    Bought this on a whim off eBay. Turns out it's not briar at all - maybe walnut? No markings whatsoever. But I liked the conceptual aspect of it. It was more or less solid black. I cleaned it up and gave it a two-tone finish. Don't know if I'll get much smoking out of it, but I do like looking at it.

    I would add a silver Celtic ring to the bowl where the smooth meets the rusticated.
    It would add some zing, and make the shape transition flow better.

    The more I look at it I think it looks like an upside down acorn with the bottom chopped off.:)

    Probably not walnut...too light. Possibly maple? I've made a few maple pipes for myself, and they smoke well...just need a decent cake or they *can* burn out. Have fun and let us know how it smokes for you!
