Theres this PSFer whom I trade w/ . He sent me a good size bag of H&H from the 1950's to maybe 1960ish [ back when the metal can had a key attached to it to open it ] ! Yup , it smells so damn good as I sit at the computer smoking it out of an old Kaywoodie Fine line bulldog , that the PSfer also sent ! I'm a happy man right now ! RTO , this 1950's stuff is very much like the newer stuff , however , the burley is a touch more forward and the light "Citrus" [ for lack of a better word ] topnote is there with alittle more smooth nuttiness . In a word .. Killer :beck: . I was gonna leave out the guys name who sent me this stuff being I dont want to embarrass him , but I cant help it . Thanks , Nesta :nwor:

Ruff was kind enough to send me a sample of the 1950's. It arrived today, and I've smoked a bowl. Genius... pure flippin' genius! Lane did a helluva job in restoring H&H to it's 1980's glory, but it can't touch this stuff. If you're not a big VaBur fan, then you probably won't really appreciate this because it's just a simple VaBur blend. However, the quality of the tobacco in this stuff is kickazz! I can only describe this as savory. While it's touted as half VA and half burley, I think the burley dominates and the VA performs and excellent support role. Thus, it is nutty and slightly sweet with the anise casing adding a wonderful dimension to it all. I'd be willing to put it up against a Wessex or C&D blend any day. I now fully understand why this was one of my uncle Danny's favorite blends.

If that's from the same batch that Nesta sent me about 2 ounces of half and half, the stuff was EPIC!

I just got in an order from 4Noggins. The 12oz tub that I received indicated it was made by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, Tucker, GA.

Not yet. I got a tub of Walnut and the tub of H&H from 4Noggins, and I opted to go for the Walnut first.

Ahhhh , Walnut ! It's the perfect time of year for it ... it's cooling off and my tastebuds are getting into the idea of English style blends soon . MB Solent also , thanks for turning me onto that one , btw :th1:
