See? Thats another reason I like this site. I'm learning another language. Is a nose warmer a short stemmed pipe?

The bottom pipe in the banner below is one example of a nosewarmer.

Now there is an ad campaign I'll bet Missouri Meerschaum or Aristocob never thought of: "Smoke a cob and it will make you think of... chicken feed." :xd:

But really, glad you enjoyed your initial cob experience and if it reminds you of grandpa all the better. Enjoy.

I now use the Forever stems from Walkers. They are terrific!
As for the filter, I took it out originally at the suggestion of someone here on the forum and ended up getting a burning ember rocket back to the back of my throat! I proptly put it back in. After I got the Forever stem however, burning ember rockets became a non issue.
Woulnt have a cob without one!

Two of my best smokers are cobbs. A MM CG, and a MM Smokeable Second GD. I had a pride of MO, that was an excellent smoke as well. They're very forgiving, makes em great for new smokers. Never a gurgle. And cheap! I use for mine for at work cobbs. If I drop it, kick it under the truck tire, and run over it...no big deal. I'll always have cobbs in my rotation. Like you though, there was a time when I didn't take them seriously. Maybe because we used to make and smoke them as children.

I'll have to check with the trademark department to make sure that it's not already taken.

An excellent way to start. Hey, you'll have enough you can even try your hand at modifying them!
