i was wondering if anyone knows a good source of pipe tobacco samplers that will allow me to sample pipe tobaccos of different brands.. most samplers i find are packs of a certain brand and id like to try out one or two products from a wider range of brands

Sounds like you need to do the new guy/old guy swap. Check the trade forum.

The Trade forum is a great place to do this. Their are a few Net dealers that do samples. I have not tried this route, Beale.

Cornell and Diehl markets their own blends under C&D, but they also do the blending for G.L. Pease, Captain Earle, and Two Friends. So you can sample four brands by ordering a sample pack. See here what's available: http://cornellanddiehl.com/oldindex.html

On this page, they have the pricing for a trial pack of 5 blends or 8 blends: http://cornellanddiehl.com/pricing_and_ship.html

I ordered several samples from them, and was quite happy with how it turned out. You can read about it here: http://pipesmokersforum.com/community/threads/c-d-care-package.3740/#post-68785
