My latest order just came today. I received: Macbaren London Burley Blend and Vanilla Creme
MC 5100 and C&D Autumn Evening

I usually smoke English blends and have never tried the above blends. What are everyone's thoughts on these blends?

I haven't tried the MacBaren, London Burley Blend but I really like MacBaren, Golden Extra -- which I hear is very similar. The Vanilla Cream is a nice natural-tasting Aro that is a favorite of many. I currently have the Vanilla Cream "Flake" in my rotation. As for the C&D Autumn Evening, I bought a tin and wasn't particularly impressed, although it is quality leaf and many love this blend. I have a feeling my tastes are just changing.

Enjoy those tobaccos and let us know what you think! :bing:

Mc5100 is a very good smoke at a great price. Gets better with age so seal some up in a mason jar and put it away.

I just may do that as the first bowl of it didn't impress me much.

Well it may not be for you, and that's ok cause someone will take it off your hands for you ;-)
Maybe try another bulk va flake. They offer a bit more complexity.

I am going to give it another go in a different pipe. I was breaking in a MM CG with it the first time. I am thinking of getting some FVF.

Yes, though it may be difficult to find... not sure what's up with availability at this point (there was a rush a week or so ago).

SG FVF is a good "baseline" Va flake for sure.
Another one, though probably less popular overall, is Dunhill Flake (aka gorilla ass flake).

SG FVF is a rich, strong, pure VA flake. Good luck finding any though... :-(

Next time it comes up I'm gonna pick some up, funds be damned. I had 1792 for the first time last night and it was great. Couldn't keep it lit for the life of me, but a good smoke. Tonight it's Braken Flake.

I've got a tin of Vanilla Cream that I haven't opened yet. Write a review of it when you have tried a few bowls of it.
