I'm sure some of you have browsed the statistics on the front page of Tobaccocellar.com, but I found this pretty interesting. Here's the most often cellared tobaccos, by units and by weight.

    Most cellared blends (by container):
Samuel Gawith-Full Virginia Flake with 1091 containers
    A & C Petersen-Escudo Navy Deluxe with 601 containers
    Esoterica Tobacciana-Penzance with 565 containers
    Esoterica Tobacciana-Stonehaven with 433 containers
    Dunhill-Royal Yacht with 420 containers
Samuel Gawith-Squadron Leader with 376 containers
Samuel Gawith-St. James Flake with 349 containers
Samuel Gawith-Best Brown Flake with 317 containers
Dunhill-Early Morning Pipe with 315 containers
    Dunhill-Nightcap with 291 containers
    Rattray-Hal O the Wynd with 272 containers
Orlik-Golden Sliced (red) with 264 containers
    Dunhill-My Mixture 965 with 260 containers
Russ Ouellette-Anniversary Kake with 250 containers
GL Pease-Union Square with 246 containers
Samuel Gawith-1792 Flake with 244 containers
Balkan Sasieni-Balkan Sasieni with 239 containers
    Dunhill-London Mixture with 233 containers
Robert McConnell-Scottish Cake with 200 containers
Dan Tobacco-Hamborger Veermaster with 197 containers

    Most cellared blends (by weight):
Samuel Gawith-Full Virginia Flake with 192 lbs 11.2 oz
    Esoterica Tobacciana-Penzance with 129 lbs 9.2 oz
marquee serries-black house with 128 lbs
    Esoterica Tobacciana-Stonehaven with 114 lbs 10.3 oz
    Dunhill-My Mixture 965 with 70 lbs 12.9 oz
    A & C Petersen-Escudo Navy Deluxe with 70 lbs 8.1 oz
Russ Ouellette-Anniversary Kake with 66 lbs 6.9 oz
Samuel Gawith-Squadron Leader with 61 lbs 4.9 oz
    Rattray-Hal O the Wynd with 56 lbs 6.9 oz
Samuel Gawith-Best Brown Flake with 55 lbs 4.7 oz
Samuel Gawith-St. James Flake with 49 lbs 12.3 oz
    Dunhill-Royal Yacht with 48 lbs 15.3 oz
Samuel Gawith-1792 Flake with 48 lbs 10.9 oz
Peter Stokkebye-Luxury Bullseye Flake with 47 lbs 11.3 oz
Peter Stokkebye-Luxury Navy Flake with 41 lbs 8.8 oz
GL Pease-Union Square with 39 lbs 8.9 oz
    Dunhill-Nightcap with 38 lbs 10.7 oz
Orlik-Golden Sliced (red) with 37 lbs 13.6 oz
Peter Stokkebye-Luxury Twist Flake with 35 lbs 9.8 oz
Dunhill-Early Morning Pipe with 35 lbs 9.1 oz

I would have guessed Penzance for the top spot, but I'm not surprised to see it go to FVF.

Interesting list. Thanks for sharing. Funny how some of those are on the list because they're on the list.

In other words, it's widely known that when something like FVF comes available, it's going to be bought up pretty quickly. So a lot of people are inclined to buy as much as they can whenever they can just because they might not be able to for a while. As a result, a lot gets put away. The mystery to me is why Samuel Gawith doesn't just raise the price - it seems like they could and still sell out of the stuff.

I like Royal Yacht, but I'm surprised to see it so high on the list.

My most-cellared is definitely FVF, so that's not surprising. I've got over a kilo :D

Interesting. The summaries on the individual collection pages gave me pause. "Based on past usage, this cellar should last for 202 years and 4 months (~ Feb 2215)".

If that guy's married, I'd lay very long odds that his wife hasn't seen that.

I have over 20 lbs of FVF and BBF combined, and it's not enough.

Pondering this a little more. Depending on how much you smoke a month, your age, and life expectancy, having enough tobacco on hand to last you to your last pipe-full isn't entirely off the wall. Acquiring tobacco earlier rather than later due to ever increasing taxes that have recently been at higher rates than inflation might make some sense. I smoke a pound a month and have about ten years before I punch out, so 120 pounds total isn't entirely unreasonable. How's that for a TAD justification?

I'm stunned that people inventory their tobacco.

Well, half anyway. I know people inventory tobacco, but I couldn't tell you what I have. Guys like you and Dan Kerr intimidate me a little with your organization and focus. Your Latakia list at BoB is amazing.

Hmmm. I could bump Penzance to second if I registered.

Wow. I have around 10 to 15 blends. Each in 1 jar and the tin is on top of the jar to help me identify the tobacco. With 1 or 2 bowls per day that i smoke i have around 1 year or more of tobacco. However i cannot hoard like some do. Im still trying to figure out what blends i like.

I am just trying to put the right amount of the right tobacco away for the day that we can't buy online any more. I'm doing a little last minute shuffling as all of a sudden I can't get enough Va flakes and I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm for Latakia.

Not at all surprised to see FVF at the top, even I have some cellared and it's widely available over here.
