Picked up a few smokes from Cigar and Tobacco LLC (rayscigar.com) in Berlin, Connecticut this morning. Nice place, friendly staff and they have a good selection in their walk-in humidor. Worth a stop if you're ever near the middle of CT.

The San Cristobal Clasico was excellent from start to finish.

Hoyo De Monterrey Dark Knight with some iced water with a lime in it. Then some well deserved hibernation.

Smoked one of new Tatuaje Avion 12s at my local B&M. It was damn good too!

Not exactly today's smoke, but close enough. This was from a get together we had after interring my youngest brother's ashes on Saturday. Thanks again Marker.

Since we come from the same stock we had no problems with passing around the sticks. The Bolivar was a clear favorite, a wonderful savory spice note. Closely followed by the Punch. Both had nice firm draws and burned wonderfully. The Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill was a little flat in comparison, with an open draw. Not bad, just not as good as the Bolivar. All of this enjoyed with a nice highball glass of 18-year-old Chivas.

I am certain my little brother PJ enjoyed the Angels share of the smoke.

Got myself a few Punch petit coronations on the go at the moment. Pretty decent Cubans for the price.

And the RyJ SC is my favorite of what I sent. So funny how that stuff turns out.

Glad your family was able to share memories over cigars.

I don't know what it is about cigars that makes everything seem more clear/introspective/relaxing, but I really like it.

Smoked a Short Story on the way up to Santa Cruz. I like 'em.
Pretty rich/robust - almost out of my comfort range for the first third, but easing up in the middle and finishing just how I like 'em.

Stopped at a cigar shop up there... grabbed a RP Decade (never had one before today).
Pretty terrible, sadly, due to crippling burn issues throughout.
Good tasting cigar, not great, and with the construction issues I experienced, I doubt I'll ever smoke one again.
I actually got a little mad at that cigar... "Really? REALLY?! DAMMIT, AGAIN?!?!"

If I see Rocky on the street today, I will smack his face with a glove.
I coulda rolled that thing better with some zig-zags.

Yeah I know... I hadn't smoked an RP in at least ten years. I have ONE RP in my humidor, a Vintage '03 Cam.
Whenever I light that thing up, if it starts running, I'm bagging it up and sending it to their HQ with a note.

"Returned defective. I do not want anything else from you. Ever"

Lol. So what's the deal with people hating Rocky? Just crappy products? I feel like I met him once and he seemed like a decent enough guy, but I honestly don't remember all that well. Seems like people have strong opinions about him though.

Best RP I've ever had was the 15th Anniversary. It burned completely even and tasted nice taboot. I've had mixed results with the Vintage series, though. Liked some of them.

BTW - the Short Story is a fantastic, fantastic cigar. I love those things.

RP bullies B&M owners, that's one thing people don't like. Also, they make a lot of crappy cigars.
Cigar smokers tend to dislike that.
