Troost Aro in a Dr.G Golden Duke
Not bad. Had a little hint of sweetness to it; which
I like in an English blend.
Uhle's 00 (also from Ruff), in a Drinkless KW.
Also, not bad! Still prefer Edgeworth, or GE
over this one, however.
Petersons University Flake ina DrGrabow Savoy
last of my original sample of Kicken Chicken in the Johs bulldog....pretty darn dried out now (I didn't jar it up) but still dang good. Mmm, spicy
My Father petit robusto and Bolivar petit corona cigars today while I mourn the USPS and their lack of haste delivering my first pipes. Curse thee local USPS because you are slow. Backstory. My local USPS does a one city transfer so anytime they say delivery dates add a day for me.
Ah, the sweet taste of vanilla, CBB in a DG Omega!
Dorsico mixture (from jp) in a Dunhill, grease under my nails (but it's high end snob grease)
Ken, how do you like the subtle taste change of 1-Q in the Lark vs the Omega?
Lane 1-Q in a bent DG
I like it, I will always like 1-Q but The Lark definately smokes a little different than the Omega...and the Savoy LOL They are all a satisfying smoke, just a lil different
G&H's Bob's Choc Flake in an Ascorti Peppino. Happy Sunday evening to everyone.
Lane RLP-6 in a bent DG
SWRA in the PSF POY.
Classic Samsun in a La Rocca
Earlier: Milan's Wall Street in my vintage Barclay-Rex apple.
Now: MacB Navy Flake very rubbed out in my trusty vintage Dr. Grabow Starfire.
Mac Baren Golden Extra in my Petson System Standard #312 Ebony. Every time I smoke this pipe, I like it a bit more. And it was pretty nice the first time!
Squadron leader in my Savinelli Bulldog KS. I preferred it the first time I smoked it but it was still good.
Friday I got a few ounces of Edward's Reserve from the Edward's here in Tampa, which is similar in flavor to SL but a rubbed flake I kinda like more...probably because I prefer the way flakes smoke.....but also because it is always and readily available.
Just tried out my new MM Ozark Hardwood pipe with a bowl of G.L. Pease Fillmore, and it smokes like my cob while having that smooth spiffy wood sheen. I am very well pleased with it, particularly considering how affordable it was. The Fillmore didn't taste quite as good in it as it did in my Savoy, in much the same way my MB vanilla tastes less good in my Savoy than it does in my cob, which lends credence to that one article I read that linked bowl shapes with specific kinds of tobacco.
Just had half a bowl of GH Dark Flake scented...might finish it tonight, may finish it in the morning. In the Royal Coachman bulldog...good, strong blend, just what I was needing. First night without any snus in months...hoping to get off it entirely and stick to pipes with the occasional snuff or chew. The snus is extremely enjoyable, but it's also expensive at almost 5 bucks a can. Needing to buy it every two or three days, that adds up...and I used to do without, so I guess now that winter's over I haven't got much excuse to indulging in it so much when the weather is nice enough to go out for a smoke.
