Fantastic pipe. It's probably light as air. Congratulations.

Still sawing away at Devil's Holiday in a much heavier Astleys ...

Sometimes I like that UPS sends me a text message when they drop a package off. Today, not so much. Sitting at work, mouth watering, while my package from SP sits at the house. Think I'll smoke some Kendal Dark first thing this afternoon.

    Sounds interesting.

An old pipe buddy from years ago used to take endless ribbing about smoking Middleton's Cherry Blend, while the rest of us enjoyed our latakia blends. The ribbing was so merciless that he had to console himself by disappearing into a bevy of gorgeous adoring females.

Then he got the idea that adding latakia to the MCB would allow him to join in and raise his pinky along with the rest of us. The mixture wasn't too bad actually. Strange, though.

Still huffing away on Devil's Holiday in an Astleys ...

 Ahhh - ok, now I get it. I was thinking about Sesame Street and what you could have meant with "Simmo figured out the whole 80's Sesame street intro "Der, die, das". HAHA
I don't see any problems with german grammar, nor I'm thinking about it while speaking or have to solve puzzles - maybe because I'm german...although I couldn't explain german grammar, I agree it's sems to be complex - it's more like a sense. Once you've learned it, incorrect grammar just sounds wrong. So - not a genius here... lol
By the way - this is the german intro of sesame street and every kid, born in the 70s and 80s grew up with this funky stuff:

    Der, die, das
    wer, wie, was
wieso weshalb warum - wer nicht fragt bleibt dumm

    He, she, it
    who, how, what
(3 different words for why) - if you don't ask, you stay stupid

Edit: Smoking some tobacco in a pipe...soon - after dinner

Actually, I own 6 cobs. They are pretty good smokers for burleys, and for sweeter tobaccos. Also good for Lakeland blends so you won't permanently ghost a briar. If you ghost a cob, you're not out much money. There are good for shorter smokes, unless you buy the MacArthur.

I concur with MentorBV on the genius part. And it's why I'm so amazed at how flippin' impeccable your English is. (Well, probably more American than English) When I translate the above German into its English counterparts I get "who not ask stays dumb" which nobody would ever say, but you get "if you don't ask you stay stupid" which is absolutely the way we'd put it. Incredible.

Just finished Black Lung in the big Sav prince, now for more Black Lung in the (not quite so) big Sav Autograph. I'm awake and I've still got more coffee to go! Yayyy!! :chug:

you should bear in mind dBear, that you only see the result of blood, sweat and tears, each sentence requires. you should see me using different translations programs, consulting dictionaries for idioms and still being uncertain all the time. but I'm trying and I am thankful to be here. :thu2:Because of you all I make progress in learning your language every day, thank you all for not laughing at me....
Now finally, after it took me almost an hour to write this I'm really happy now to smoke some tobacco.

Well at least you don't throw the dictionary in the shredder and pick the words that fall out! ;)
