Hey, if Pipe Club says it, then it's gotta be true. That's why I'll never run to my online tobacconer right now and order any of this horrible stuff. And when it if it ever arrives in my mailbox, I'll tip make my mailman take it right back. Cross my heart!

I bought an Estate Yellow Bole Pug when I first started smoking a pipe a few months back. It looked ok outside but really needed to be worked on and cleaned. The more I worked on it the more work it needed nbg So when I finally got it all cleaned up and in decent shape I realized the gunk on the tenon had been holding it together. No go. Stem was loose and I was done with it. Put it in a drawer. Done. Then I read a thread on how to fix this and worked on it tonight. Fixed by heating up a nail and expanding the diameter just a bit. Thanks PSF for more knowledge and saving this pipe!!! :toast: Christened it with PS Nougat while catching up on this thread and it is not a bad little smoker :bing: And Gus loves to yawn in photos[IMG]

And here's the story I promised from earlier today. On Monday, as some of you may remember, Rekamepip and I were teasing each other about me tasting a cinnamon note in the 1978 MacBaren Symphony. He said I should smoke it in a rockcob. I noted that I did not own one. Well, I went outside on this very cold, windy, and rainy day to get the mail, feeling kind of bad because I had just learned that two long time friends and colleagues had passed away today. One of them was long time Archie Comics writer George Gladir. The other was the co-creator of the silver age Flash, the 1960's revamped Batman that helped inspire the TV show, among many other comic book characters, former DC Comics publisher and all time great artist, Carmine Infantino. There was a package for me in the mailbox. I opened it up, and was very surprised to see a couple of ounces of Brigadier Black Waterloo along with a bent 2013 Rekamepip Rock Cob!!! What a kind and thoughtful gift to get on such a dreary day. That's what I'm smoking now. This bowl is to my dear, departed friends and to Rekamepip, for his thoughtfulness, which could not have come at a better time. Thank you, buddy! I know you didn't do this as a trade, but you'll be getting something from me soon.

Can I count the number of really good people on this list? I don't think I have enough fingers and toes to do that.

1792 and Astleys 44 in a BST Christmas pipe. Back in southern Alberta. Good pipe and a small scotch to unwind with before sacking out.

OLB in an overly caked-up Patriot. Still tastes damned good, even when I get down the hardwood base.

Interesting how a pipe finds it's way and sometimes (sometimes) to the right people and at the perfect time :msty:
