Good morning, fine bright spring morning on the Yorkshire coast, I have instructions to tend the garden - so it's FVF in a little 'Big Ben' with our caps on! :)

Suzy and Molly were hungry very, very early this morning, and let us know it. So, while they're eating Friskies Salmon in Gravy, I lit up a bowl of Virginia Spice in a 1981 Ascorti Black Billiard Business with a military bit. I won't finish it now, but it'll be good when I get back to it later.

Morning all. Crisp sunny day on the Kent coast this a.m. Having been beaten up by a 4yo & jumped on by a 6yo, grandad duties done for 5 minutes. In the garden, out of the way with the ever reliable St.Bruno RR & the trusty Falcon/Plymouth bowl. Home tomorrow for a rest!!!!!

And hours away from finishing it!

Seriously, I've got my eye on a number of EX's right now and can't make up my mind: 121, 315, 316, 320 and 510, all in a variety of finishes just to name a few. Out of the half-dozen or so Savinellis I currently own, every single one is a superb smoker. So I'm confident whatever the decision is, it won't be a mistake.

Still working on a big bowl of Davidoff Danish Mixture in a Peterson Lestrade.

It took me two hours to smoke the bowl of Old Companion. Yeah, you can't go wrong with the Savinelli EXs. Mine was a gift from a friend who quit smoking years ago, and never got around to smoking the one I now have. I'm making up for lost time!

Puffing away on some Davidoff Danish Mixture in a Peterson Lestrade ...

Earlier I had vowed NEVER to buy a lacquered pipe, assuming it would smoke way too hot and eventually sour. But I couldn't resist the Lestrade when I saw it. Well lo and behold, this lacquered pipe doesn't smoke hot at all. And it's never gone sour even with back-to-back smokes. The pipe developed a cake in normal fashion and delivers a cool dry smoke every time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This shape feels great in the hand and hangs effortlessly from the jaw despite its hefty size. Peterson did an excellent job with the mouthpiece: the button is big enough to rest securely behind the teeth, and yet the bit is thin and comfortable. Highly recommended if you like rounded pipe shapes.

    Is that Jelly Baby loaded?

(Not enough of a fan to remember the episode of that one)

About ready to load some Erinmore Flake into a small sandblasted Canadian.
