Odyssey in the Astas billiard. Enjoying it

Edit: actually, I'm enjoying it quite a lot. To the extent that I'm sitting here thinking, "oh yeah! now I remember, this stuff is excellent!"

Every time I smoke it, I enjoy it pretty darn well. I always wonder, why don't I smoke this more often?

And then I don't smoke it again for maybe two months.

Grappa is interesting stuff. I've had some that was downright nasty and then others that are very nice. Fortunately I have oil patch friends that travel a lot so they bring me back treats. Those little cigars are definitely an outside smoke, the smell lingers inside for a long time.
That English Oriental Supreme really is a pleasant smoke isn't it.

Painter Hills in a DGE cob. 20C(68F)H60% The storms are all around but haven't hit here.

Yes, in my hippie days none of my girl friends or even my musician buddies could stand the smell of those Italian cigars. That may have been part of the attraction. I've always been a grumpy old fart, even in my youth.
Yes, the Oriental Supreme is wonderful, thank you very much for the generous educational sample. I like the Painter Hills and Prairie Winds as well. Especially the Prairie Winds.

    Good Morning!
First day back in the office after working in Palm Beach Gardens last week. Red Cake in a Stanwell bent Acorn and coffee for the drive in this morning. I have been looking at some of my smaller pipes to smoke Red Cake in and this Stanwell suites the Virginia well. I don't remember when I bought this pipe but, it is an interesting design. It is marked Stanwell, REGD No 569-48 HANDMADE DENMARK and has a shape or style number 48.
