I left the office at 5:30 the thermometer in the VW said 111 degrees, now I'm not sure just how accurate these car thermometers are, and I know it always drops some after you get moving...12 miles to the house and it had cooled off to a positively balmy 106!!

I'm smoking some CAO/Dan tobaccos "liberty" in a cob with....can you believe it? Black coffee.

I finished a tin of Sam Malloys extra stout last week and one of the reviewers on TR complained that Liberty was just a repackaging of the SM. I think he may be onto something, this tin I dated 5-06 but that's when I got it, it had been sitting on the shelf for several years. But it tastes VERY similar, which is a good thing for me, I have 4 tins of each I think still cellared.

I still can't believe that slowing down my cadence has made such a difference in my opinion on some of these imported aromatics. Up until now I have been staunchly anti aromatic, but I'm really likeing these....can Vanilla cavendish be far behind??? Surely not....

What kind of wine goes with crow?

Having been underwhelmed with the straight Lat, I've mixed it about 40/60 with CH. Very nice--kinda like Walnut. Smoking it in the POY.

I just popped a tin of C&D Burley Flake # 3 and was greeted with a lovely tin aroma, so I'm eager to fire it up. A flake is drying right now, being prepared for stuffing into the little 1960s Pete System 314. Our pipe club meeting got postponed to tomorrow evening due to a severe thunderstorm watch (which, of course, never materialized). Since the wife and kids are still at the cottage, I'm going to open doors and windows and smoke it on the couch while I watch an episode of Breaking Bad on the big screen, rather than sitting outside in the wind with the iPad. I'll have to be sure to air the place out really well before they get back :D

MM 965 seems to be popular as of late......I am smoking it in a MM bent Legend. Trying to beat the 105 degree heat.

I enjoyed it, but found it tough on the tongue. That's why I'm going for the p-lip pipe next :D

Others will argue the point, but I prefer the p-lip. The first two pipes I bought were Dr. Grabows with the p-lip bit, so I got used to it. Only one of my Peterson pipes has a fishtail bit.
