Had my usual bowl of C&D Red Odessa to start, now finishing up H&H Steamroller in a MM Legend and picking cobs out to fill with the likes of GH Bob's Chocolate Flake, Ennerdale, and GH Scotch Flake Aromatic for later today. I'll probably put H&H American Heritage in the rekamepip fruitwood "cob", as the burley is tasting good right now.

Horse-hockey. You made it so you should know if it would crap out at only a month's worth of daily smoking. Since it isn't actually a cob, I've only smoked one bowl a day in it ... should I up that and give it a real stress test?

Ah, I hadn't realized I actually have a prototype model. In that case, it's holding up fine to daily outside walk-the-dog smokes.

Thanks to Lithua Pipe, I am enjoying MacBaren Old Dark Fired in a smooth 2002 medium bend panel top straight grain Rinaldo Collection Silver Line F Egea 05 Titania. Very nice and tasty, not as strong as I expected, but it's full flavored. Guess I'll be buying this, too.

Afternoon, boys and girls. Dark Flake scented in a Wally Frank beater.

Edit: This Wally Frank smokes the heck out of DF. I mean it burns it down to ash with only 4 or 5 relights, which is near miraculous. But, it doesn't make it taste nearly as good as my new-to-me Brebbia First. It's magical in that pipe, even with a little dottle at the end.

I'm still on the Ruffinogold samples. I broke out a much cherished pipe just for this occasion. Full Virginia Flake in a smooth straight grain three quarter bend 1979 Becker M 4 heart pipe.

Old Joe Krantz in the Kapet 68. I loaded the bowl a few hours ago, but started cleaning house before leaving for Ohio tomorrow.

I'm excited to see my family (especially my sister, who I haven't seen since summer because she's off to England for her masters degree), but it's three weeks...that's an eternity to be cooped up in a house with five people where I have to go outside to smoke and can't keep whatever hours I desire....

I might return just a little bit early ;)
