What Are You Smoking? December, 2012

    I think so. This 1979 one I bought for .99 cents is small, but I was desperate to find something to smoke that night while out in the snow with friends. It's really held up, though there have been years I haven't smoked it at all. I have a 1984 General that's done great for me, too. They do smoke better than the 2002 and 2012 cobs I have. I wouldn't say it was night and day different, but the older ones are smoother smokes.

    Still awake, so now I'm smoking MacBaren Virginia #1 in a smooth full bend 1977 Crown Coachman 215.

    Just lit a bowl of PA in a MM Country Gentleman. It's been a two pipe morning. Everyone else is asleep but me and my bird dog and we're being lazy watching the fire and reading a western. Yes my dog likes it when I read to her. Louis L'Amour is by far her favorite author, but Gene Hill is a close second. For instructional reading she prefers Ted Trueblood to Richard Wolters, but we appreciate his work as well.

    Slept really well last night, all things considered.

    Woke up, had a leisurely cup of tea, brushed my teeth, and now I've made my way to a bowl of G.L. Pease Stratford in the Ben Wade billiard. Nice smoke for the first of the day :puffy:

    Lot of family church crowd will be around so I have loaded up a couple of bowls of Rich's Maple Steamer, a real crowd pleaser and even better a real RewRew pleaser. :)

    I've been out for walk around some of the local shops today, took a Pete Rustic Barrel and G & H Best Brown with me and managed to fit in two bowls between shops.
    Now sitting at home with Germain's Rich Dark in a John Redman Billiard.

    Really regretting I didn't bring some BB#2 with me on my trip. But, I did bring along some Rich Dark Flake, and was thinking it may be called for later!

    Broke out two new tins: Beacon Extra in a Caminetto Business and Bombay Extra in the La Rocca Novo.

    First impressions: Beacon - meh. Bombay - quite nice.
