Well, I must say the Halberg Green is perhaps the best fruit flavored aro I have ever smoked. In some ways, it's a better, more complex and smoother version of Amphora Red. The easiest review I've ever written. Now, I'm about to smoke MacBaren Halberg Yellow in a straight 2012 MM Mizzou cob. Wonder how it will match up?

Overcast here this morning. Hopefully we'll get some rain to cool the place down - it's been uncomfortably hot.

So, my pipe smoking mate is popping over for coffee this morning. Always good to see him. Actually, he's one of three friends I have who have been laid off over the past few months who have not been able to find employment. All in their fifties. Unemployment is a big problem here.

Coffee & a bowl of FVF in a GBD New Era to kick start the day.

Enjoyed the Halberg Yellow very much. Now, back for a second go 'round with MacBaren Halberg Red in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer.

Bummer. Lions beat by a 61 yard field goal. Makes me wish that game was played outdoors. I still had a great night downtown smoking Dorchester in my savinelli dry Oscar as I am now. Man it is late. We got hit. With about 3 inches during the game that made for a long ride home. Good night fellows.

Preparing for a long late smoke involving Nightcap and my favourite Grabow. Even the smell of the freshly opened tin is more exciting after a long absence. :snork::sh::sailor:

Mac Baren Halberg Red in a Peterson Sherlock Holmes Lestrade ...

I've been going through this tobacco like a house on f. It's an aromatic--in that it smells very good--but it's not an aroma bomb. In fact there's no identifiable fragrance note like fruit, coffee, chocolate that I can attach to it. The tobacco quality is way up there, on a par with top-of-the-line Larsen offerings. In fact this is the best looking tobacco I've ever seen. None of the leaf fragments have blemishes, and the color variation is dazzling. It even has perfectly cut Flake-St├╝ckchen.

I'm not sure my wife appreciates me using her art experiments as a station for photographing and filling my pipes. But it's a well-lit uncluttered surface, a combination of features that's increasingly hard to find these days at Casa MBV.

I'm finishing a bowl of it now. Great tobacco, but I think I prefer the Green. The Yellow is very good, too. I'm going to post my reviews later this day.

Probably my last smoke before sleep: Kentucky Planter in a 2003 smooth Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Baskerville. I've a little more work to do since I lost time doing other important things.

    Good Morning,

-23 F currently, but as beautiful a sky as you'd want to see. To say it's clear and "crisp" would be an understatement.

Smoking Dark Flake Aromatic in a Radice.
