Back from my marginally useful appointment to some Nightcap in the Country Gent and more coffee. All of a sudden I feel perked up for some reason.

Not really, I'd punch a baby for it to be 6 degrees here, fahrenheit or celcius, anything but this infernal heat.

After a brief and spartan lunch, I'm settling down with some St. Bruno RR in a cob.

Smoking a bowl of an aromatic blend called Grandma's Christmas kitchen or something along those lines that a friend brought back from South Africa. He bought it for me at a place called Wesley's which is very appropriate given my name.

    Codgers mix in a cob.
Codgers mix is all the leftovers from personal blends, blends I didn't really care for, and scraps. Its not bad today, but in a month it could be completed different.

I use honey whiskey in my cobs and hardwoods
swab the bowls out 1st or even in between the 1st few bowls
    - let dry overnight before smoking

while the alcohol slightly raises the grain the burnt sugars give a nice even carbon coating to start you on the way to a good cake formation and the honey flavors of the 1st couple smokes are pretty good

Good morning everyone. 42*F in north Florida this morning. Starting my day with Annie Kake in a cob with Community coffee on the side, getting me into a Tropical Island state of mind (9 days)!

    Good Morning,
For my obligatory ride into work on this cold morning in NJ, I am having McClelland's Christmas Cheer 1998 in a Castello Great Line Medium Bent Dublin with a Silver band. Ethiopian Amaro coffee from Oren's Daily Roast in NYC is waking me up. Although '98 doesn't get the high ratings as some of the other years I think it is a lovely smoke. I like it better than '97 or '99.

    Happy Smoking,
    Paul

Paul, '98 is without a doubt my favorite vintage.

Ach, du Schei├če! Too late. ;)

Now I need to go on German beer safari. In the meantime, smoking 10 yr old MC5100 Red Cake in the egg with hot and black on the side, thanks to Marker :toast:.

Waking up with some coffee and Prince Albert in an MM Washington bent cob :puffy:
I had the heat turned way down last night, so it's freezing in here this morning
