Melafternoon mon folkatores. After what has to be one of the most dull, brain-sapping shifts in the history of humanity and a fairly rank trip home, I can finally clench Sanity by the teeth with the Benfield filled to the brim with Royal Yacht and rammed steadfast and square in the face. Good frame of mind never tasted so good.

And while I remember, happy birthday JWG25, oh to be 25 again :bday:

Next smoke shall be Sir Walter Raleigh in an MM straight Washington cob :puffy:
Also having another cup of coffee before heading out to the post office.

The rain has stopped, and the temps are dropping. Now 54 (F) and cloudy.

Three bowls of Sextant in the Weber so far today during my Christmas errands. All that's left is to go to the liquor store and to do my own work.

I'll treat myself to a different pipe and a different blend soon. My guess is I'll finish my '09 Penzance from Stick in the Ben Wade pot.

Rauchen füllt die Staatskasse? :laff: Good one!

    Happy Birthday JWG! bdpbdpbdpbdp

Finally ran all errands, going to have a good bowl of tobacco in a pipe now. Decided on smoking another sample that Hans sent me, a blend he created for the dutch pipesmokerforum PRF. the mixture is called "Brullende Leeuw" - Roaring Lion and it contains ...uhm, just everything.

Description from the HU Tobacco website:
The exquisite balance of this exotic mixture stands for the unity between the Dutch and Flemish Pipe Smokers Forum members. That together many pipes may be smoked! The blend is beautifully balanced with light and red Virginias, latakia, oriental tobaccos, some Black Cavendish and a pinch of perique.

I'm going to smoke it in the Tinsky Xmas 2012 Tanblast. Puff on!

[IMG] Remembering Christmas Past, while enjoying C&D Burley Flake #1 in a Stanwell #126. The kids have been at daughter #1's since Friday and I have been left to my own devices. So being the clever sod that I am, I decided to "nuke" the frig; a complete sanitation and elimination of aging jars of stuff. Tomorrow will end the solitude, including the in-laws with nine screaming children. (the kids are actually pretty well behaved)

:bday:JWD25, my mom's birthday was on the 24th of Dec., so we had "second birthday" on July 4th to compensate.

    May your celebrations be merry!

Been busy straightening up the house for company, and while I was at it, I smoked Bacchanalia in a 1979 smooth slight bend H. Jones Ltd. Easy Loader 391 Dublin, followed by Charlemagne in the third pipe I ever bought ($1.95), a 1974 smooth straight French briar Hadley Apple. Going for another smoke in a moment.

Does it come with the disclaimer "No blowfishes were harmed during the production of this pipe"? It's certainly a unique and attractive piece.

Now, it's Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a slight bend rusticated 1979 Savinelli Estella 310 poker. Stormy's pouring outside, and I'm pouring inside... coffee, that is!

Cracked a tin of Special Latakia Flake (it's the holidays after all), and I'm going to smoke it in this twin bore Radice.

lol, I can't compare it directly, because I only have another sealed tin of it - but I suspect that Hans tried to recreate GL Pease Blackpoint. The first impression after the initial light and a few puffs: "Am I smoking Blackoint here? Tastes pretty much like it!" Then I looked up the composition of Blackpoint - lo and behold, both have the exact same ingredients. I guess I have to get a tin of that stuff in order to compare both blends directly. Pretty blackpointish, this dutch Lion.
