Now smoking some "Bierplug", a plug tobacco containing Virginia/Kentucky/Perique. Great stuff, the flavors are changing all the time, nutty burley grades, sweet Virginias, just a bit of peppery Perique... unfortunately very rare. Smoking it in the Tinsky Xmas 2011 Tanblast bulldog.

Thanks to Flatbush Paul, I'm about to smoke a bowl of Medium Virginia Flake in a 1980 Stanwell 668 medium bend with a ferrule, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top. A can of Mountain Dew is my drink. Working and listening to MLB talk on the XM.

St Bruno in the Schemnitz pipe, recently mentioned in the 'oldest pipe' and 'Monsters' threads. I said in one of them that it doesn't smoke well, but it's doing ok now. The main problem usually is keeping it alight. I think it's a matter of packing it carefully, perhaps because it's narrow in relation to its height.

Nope, I indeed said Bierplug! translated to beerplug, but it has nothing to do with beer, or Bier. It's a plug by Volker Bier, a German pipemaker - and produced by Kohlhase&Kopp. Interesting maker btw, his grading system is funny, the different gradings are named after his favorite hard rock bands, depending on the music he listened to while making the particular pipe.

    http://www.pfeifen-bier.de/

He's got IR pipes (Iron Maiden), JP pipes (Judas Priest), RA pipes (Rammstein), MA pipes (Manowar),... :hbang:

You can find the tobacco under "Sonstiges" and "Tabak" - the second from above is his Bierplug and most of the times you will read "Vergriffen", which means OUT OF STOCK! :(

Wet and rainy today, but warmed up (relatively speaking) after some snow came down last night so I was out on the porch more-or-less enjoying things. Had a nice, long smoke with a flake plus a little of Newminster Navy Flake packed into my Viprati freehand Dublin.

HAHA, we both have to blame John, he got me to look it up again - now I'm enabling myself. I'm thinking about purchasing a Rammstein myself. That one:

might be a perfect pipe for his plug...

And now "Du Hast" is stuck in my head.

Going to eat some pizza and then I'll figure out what to smoke. Maybe some German tobacco is in order, to go with the German music..
