First time trying Dark Horse in a 1974 smooth straight French briar Hadley Apple. And a Sprite. Paid maybe a quarter for the drink, got the tobacco in a trade, and the pipe cost me a $1.99 when I originally bought it in 1974. Nothing like smokin' and drinkin' on a budget.

In the spirit of site harmony, I've not leaned my pipe against any precision instruments this afternoon.

The Brown Truck finally arrived and I tried for the first time McC's #24 in a 1970's Oscar. Interesting smoke, but will have to try a few more bowls to see what I really think of this tobacco. #22 also showed up and might give it a try later this evening in my new Westbrook Rhodesian.

The #24 is a really nice smoke when new but turns into a magnificent smoke with several years age on it. It totally transforms into a completely different blend. Truly amazing!

    Afternoon, fellows.

A little care package from across the pond was waiting in the mail today. As a result, I'm smoking some Semois in a Country Gent. Too bad this stuff isn't available over here. It's a nice smoke. My benefactor said he gets a Kendal Kentucky vibe from it, and I have to agree.
