Second, and probably last, of the day is a big bowl of Kendal Dark in the L'Anatra billiard. Big heavy blend for a big heavy pipe. Seriously...sometimes I think that if you put this in the right pipe and give it just the right care, there is no finer smoke. I doubt many people agree with me, but I can hardly get enough of this.

On the side, 30% orange/pineapple juice, 70% seltzer

I have yet to try that one, for some unfathomable reason. Is it similar to well rubbed Dark Flake, nesta?

For me the best smoke of the day is very early in the morning - before dawn when the birds are just starting to sing & the day is full of promise. Like right now. Chelsea Morning in a Pete Mark Twain. Cup of good sweet tea on the side. Just doesn't get much better.

Somewhat. It is the same blend of tobaccos, but as far as I can tell it's totally unscented. I've not had Dark Flake unscented, but from what I hear it isn't truly unscented, it's more like Brown Flake unscented - in that it has a tiny bit of flavoring added.

It used to be a shag cut, just like Dark Birdseye, but due to recent changes in UK regulations, it's now a ribbon cut - they no longer sell shag cut tobaccos as pipe tobacco.

I wish I could still buy it as a shag, but I do think it burns cooler and smoother this way, and it is overall an improvement. Still, I liked it the way it was.

Mars Cigars claims to still offer the shag cut version though. GH may possibly still produce it in the finer cut for export, I don't know....but I do know when I get it from SP, Smokers Haven or P&C, it is now a ribbon cut.

Starting the day with SWR in a slightly bent Peter Kent Prince with coffee for the ride in to work. I don't know much about these Peter Kents. I own a couple and the are good smokers. I prbably purchased them in the early 70's.

Yesterday I had some Blue Mountain in a cob. It was my first bowl in a couple of days. This morning I am having some SG Chocolate Flake in a sandblasted GBD Collector Militaire. Good day to all.
