MacBaren Club Blend in a large IMP meerschaum. Went for morning walk in light rain with Essence of Vermont in a MM Legend with a windcap. There's something energizing about a good long light rain that soaks in rather than so heavy that it's just runoff. 15C(59F)H100%

I may get a bottle of Chanel No. 5 and some liquid Ivory and try dousing a plug of Ten Russians with it.

Had a small get together last night. Smoked some Pirate kake in my Nording 2008 Hunter's Pipe (Woodcock) and some MC5100 in my new Nording Brandy.

The Signature billiard has been performing well, but still tasted a bit like a used bookstore smells when the bowl got to the heel...so I did a salt/alcohol treatment the night before last and it's been drying out since then. A very generous guy here swapped some tobacco with me a few days ago, and I found myself with some very old Edgeworth Ready Rubbed. So my first taste of Edgeworth in the Signature billiard. Black coffee on the side

Cracked open an 11-year-old tin of C&D Sam's Blend and stuffed it into an estate meer lattice. This is a surprisingly mild blend. Tobacco was a little dry, but still moist enough to cause some gurgle fairly quickly. The perique is very faint, as is the latakia. I get a little of both. Just a hint. It's mostly cavendish. I like this blend well enough, but not enough to buy another tin. I got this one in a bulk buy when a local pipe store went out of business a couple of years ago.

I'm gonna be suffering when school starts back in August. I've gotten use to 5 or 6 bowls a day. 7:30 to 3:30 without a pipe is gonna hurt.

Waiting all day for a bowl does sharpen the taste buds.
