Are you sure, Phinz? This is a black sausage (made from blood, rye flour and brans) they sell in Tampere City, Finland:

It is tough to be honest. If you go to nearest corner and tell lies, folk in a good mood. They give you even money. If you start to tell truths, they throw stones. :puffy:

I will admit I was a bit of a jerk about it. The easy thing would have been to send the pipe back and start again, but damn, the thing is an embarrassment to pipemakers everywhere, I want to keep it as evidence of the crime.

Ah! Someone else that keeps mistakes. I have a couple of mistakes that would have been avoided if I'd done a little more homework. Just reminders that I'm not half as smart as I like to think I am.The place of honour goes to a Garrard Zero100e turntable, absolutely wrong in so many ways. I could have taken it back to the shop I bought it from but the thing still fascinates me as an example of a good idea gone terribly wrong.

Looks like I will need to fly east sometime this week, so I'll tack on a few extra days and head out to the lake. 31C(88F)H28% there right now.

    Hmmm. Flying right over Mactier....

All of this Yanik talk makes me glad I was sniped on every last one of the 12 I've bid on from him. Now I'm leery.

On a brighter note, I finally have some more Condor on the way, so I dug the remnants of my little hoard out of the "special occasion" drawer. As a result my day went like this:

Condor in a MM Egg visiting with my dad.
Condor in a Nob Hill apple mowing the lawn.
Condor in a Wally Frank billiard still mowing the lawn.
Condor in a Country Gent weedeating.
Finally, Bayou Morning in a Country Gent drinking a well deserved beer.

Why not Condor with a beer, you ask? Because Condor makes Sam Adams Cream Stout taste like $¶•π. No, I have no theories as to why. I don't even ponder on it.

    Have a great evening, fellows.

I was at the beach all day...kids had fun, grandma got bit by a jellyfish and I smoked some pipes. I had:

    LNF in a bent Dublin
Dark Flake in a straight Dublin
Edward's Reserve in the Digby Bulldog

And when I got home there was a box with the 5 Carey's Magic Inch pipes I won on eBay. I have some filters on the way.

Also, 7 for 7 on having to exorcise the ghost of Captain Black on an estate pipe. That ghost hates me. Why cant I get an estate with a lakeland ghost? The only good thing is those pipes were nasty and caked...most likely good smokers. Cant wait to try then in a few days.
