Yeah, and it's one of those "hints of" kind of things - like with wine or coffee tastings. Of course a red wine or coffee tastes like what it is - wine or coffee. But you'll find something like leather, blackberry, citrus fruits, flowers, leather, smoke, and other things in there, along with the "normal" wine or coffee flavors. A note, a hint of something sweet and dessert like in the aroma, in this case. I'd bet money I probably won't notice it ever again! (not a large sum, though ;))

Hmm... bet the tin was older than that.
I bought several tins of Caledonian
over a decade ago, and they had some
aging on them already. Haven't seen
Any in the states since then. They did
away with the green tin first, then the
blue (499 you smoked), then the red (421).
Only one left in the 50g size is the
    Melange 10 (Highland Cream).

PA in a Grabow Grand Duke, with a rum and Coke on the side. ...And because I'm in an ornery mood, I do pronounce it "gruh-bow" instead of "gray-bow". :byg:

For real? Where at? I'm currently not too far from Alba, in the Dolcetto wine/black porcini mushroom/white truffle capital, Ovada :)

Had a nice bowl of Scaferlati Caporal Bleu in my Pete African meer last night when it cooled down enough to enjoy a pipe, which was pretty damn late

Well it was my first bowl but it was good, it's somewhat similar to Grousemoor if you have tried that, sweet and floral, It's a sample but I will probably buy it, I would try it before buying a half pound though :).

I wouldn't judge Perique by smoking LNF, I love Perique but do not enjoy LNF. I can't recommend GLP Triple Play highly enough, especially to a fellow Dark Flake/Plug fan. Buy a tin and if you don't like it I'll glady take it off your hands. ;)
