Humidity be damned! The suspense was killing me so I wanted a smoke of Wessex Brown Virginia Flake anyway and that is what I stuffed into the Askwith Morta Cutty for its maiden voyage. There aren't enough words to state how much I enjoyed that smoke, it was near magical and nothing but ash was left, it would take a 90 degree grinder with a serious abrasive wheel to wipe the smile off my face. I thank Chris Askwith very much for this superb pipe. :gjob:

Haha, my wife suggested Piña Coladas last weekend- they were a nice change.

Thanks to FishnBanjo, I'm smoking AJ's VaPer in a 2002 smooth Rinaldo Silver Line 3 EGER 05 paneled horn. I think I have enough left for one more bowl. As for my drink on this hot and humid day, I'm going to have a bottle of NuGrape soda. Back to work in a few minutes, and will listen to MLB talk on the XM, too.

Oh, g'won with your crazy talk.......

Home now, in some air conditioning, and not moving much for the rest of the day. Tornado watches for the next couple of hours.

For now, it's a pinch of Copenhagen between the cheek and gum, I'll keep you posted.

Messed around at the office for a while, didn't get a whole lot accomplished. The little AC I have there just barely kept it tolerable. Fortunately I am now in the nice cool pub, working on my first (literally) ice cold Black Bear Brewery Gear-head red. Had a bowl of CH in the POY on the drive over.

1971 Velvet in a Dr. Grabow freehand.

This would make someone a good avatar.

Settling down with some Four Squires Flake and the usual bucket of tea after a Dirty Harry mini-marathon.

Okay, I've decided. Brown Flake, in the BST Inaugural. It's the one on the left. It may look small, don't be fooled.

Today started in spectacular fashion with a trip to Arches National Park. The biggest miracle was getting both families, including 3 "children" (ages 17-20) out of the house by 0500. Sunrise was 0609 and we wanted to be there to watch it all happen. We were greeted with this:

    and this - Delicate Arch:

Later in the morning some of us ended up here:

Back home by 0900 for a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, french toast and coffee and for me - a well deserved bowl of Grasmere Flake in my David Jones prince. I stopped on the way home to pick up some pipe cleaners and a lighter and life is good. Happy Friday All.
