Thanks, will have to pull it and have a look. It's a '96 with 308K on the clock, so I'm not surprised. Used to drive BIIs, but they rust out so quick hear in Maine.
GLP Cumberland in the Berg Wade. This pipe is really caking nicely and turning into one of my best smokers cant say thank you enough.
SWR followed by Scottish Cake. Early to bed.
Smoking some very fine # 40 Oriental from Peretti, in the Medico Apple. Tall Lemonade in a frosted mug to drink.
Braves beat the Marlins 7-1 in 14 innings. Giants lead the Mets 2-1 in some inning I prefer not to think about. Rockies lead the Padres 2-0 in the same darn inning, too. Red Sox and Mariners are scoreless in the 4th. I'm smoking Field Master in a 1975 three quarter bend black Dunhill Shell. I'm drinking ice tea chilled to the proper temperature. And working.
A second bowl of Onyx, this time in the Sasquatch prince.
Just fired up a bowl of well-dried-out Black & Mild, in my Irish Seconds apple. Bliss!
Painter Hills in a BST Compact Little Brute. Perhaps it was a little good scotch and listening to a radio show on Thucydides, but that was one of the nicest pipefulls in quite a while.

Stokkebye Natural Dutch Cavendish in a tan rusticated Cavicchi Author ...
Ah, the old Amphora Regular! Well, it's probably not exactly the same. But it's close enough for me. And it satisfies that intense longing I've had ever since those distinctive brown pouches and tins disappeared from the American landscape.
There's that very faint note of a Dutch whiff cigar on lighting up. Maybe it's Java tobacco or just a strong spicy burley. Whatever it is brings back all those good feelings of smoking Amphora cavendish. The Brown was always my favorite, though most of my fellow pipers called it plain. Everybody else seemed to prefer the Red.
I also got 4 ounces of the Stokkebye Aromatic Dutch Slices in my order but haven't tried it yet. Some have said it's like the old Troost. If that's true, I'll be in heaven.
MB vanilla creme flake in a Pete barrel. Yum!
Finally getting a chance to initiate my long-desired experiment in determining merits of aging tobacco. I have already got a tin of 2005 Telegraph Hill open.
I now also have a tin of 2013 Telegraph Hill open. Up until very recently I had never tasted the stuff, and have only smoked maybe two or three bowls of the older stuff.
Right now, 2013 Telegraph Hill in the MM Great Dane egg. Big difference, but I won't comment on specifics until I can test them a bit more. This is still good - just not AS good.
