C&D Autumn Evening in a clay. Smooth maple/vanilla flavor with a nice nic. hit. Smoked nice and dry in the clay.

After a nice Father's Day bbq with family at my house, I am ready to kick back with some GL Pease Maltese Falcon in my MGM Rock with a Vernors Ginger Ale on the side and watch the end of the US Open golf tourney.

Agreed. Smoked like a champ for me tonight, which is rare--generally speaking, if I'm smoking a pipe, I'm the man keeping Diamond Match in business. This time, after a little bit of initial fussiness... well, I noticed it not wanting to stay lit and reached for the tamper... which went through about half the bowl at a single tamp! Love it when that happens.

If you're in uniform, you're on duty. No drinking on duty. If you're in civies, you're not on duty. If you're not on duty, you can drink. Never the twain shall meet. :thdn:

Not in foreign ports, nope. Unless you're shore patrol in a friendly port. Shore patrol is uniformed. Friendly ie; CONUS or Nato OCONUS. That's it. Out in foreign ports, ya wear civies. The idea is to have a good time, not draw attention to yourself. Nobody likes being a target while being on liberty these days. ;) The only place people go out on liberty are installations that regularly receive fresh guys right out of boot & they haven't been given the privilege of wearing civies yet. That's mostly CONUS. Fleet week in NYC is one place & time you DEFINITELY want to be in your whites!!! It's pretty much the exception to the partying in uniform rule.
