It's different. It's a "kinder & gentler Navy". I'm the last of a breed. I was raised up thru the ranks by guys chasin soviets around the pond during the cold war. It's not blue water navy anymore, it's brown water & coastal. It's also kinder & gentler. nuff said on that, lol.

Had a smokeless day today. Want a clean palate & steady chops for when my G.L. Pease Key Largo comes in the mail. Could foresee myself having 2 or 3 bowls of it tomorrow though w. 1/2 a pot of coffee, lol.

Just came in from a bowl of Five Brothers in the Peterson XL305. I'm starting to dislike this pipe...it's functional, but always burns hot as hades at the bottom, and tends to turn ashy. I want another system pipe some day, but a smaller bowl

Irish Oak in a Peterson 80S. Small glass of Buckaroo Buckwheat mead on the side. Needed to calm down after watching replays of Nakajima taking out the Nissan Deltawing at Lemans. Doesn't happen often but the string of epithets that I'm capable of producing even surprised me. Good mead, good pipe, good tobacco, is great for anger reduction.

My brother is definitely blue water. Deep, deep blue water. He's a Boomer and has been since '99.

Smoked Pennsylvania Dutch Treat in a Peter Kent Canadian last night watching the Seminoles win in the loosers bracket at the CWS. Great game, nice smoke and a fine Brandy. This morning its Bear Blend in the General with some strong black El Coqui (Puerto Rican) coffee. My friend had a great experience with CH and cob I gave him. I think he's hooked.
