Final smoke before bed is Angler's Dream in a 1978 smooth pointy bottom three quarter bend Sir Brent, shaped like a check mark. Interesting thing about this blend is that sometimes I codger scoop just a little more red Virginia than burley and vice versa, which adds to the fun of smoking it. This bowl has a little more burley, so the nuttiness of the smoke is a little more obvious. Almost finished reading box scores.

MacBaren Scottish Mixture in my DGE MP nosewarmer. This is my first bowl of this, and so far it is very promising.

Mac Baren Burley London Blend in a Cavicchi Rusticated Author ...

A fellow PSFer did a fine review of this tobacco yesterday on TR. Which inspired me to dig some out of the cellar.

If you like burley, it might be physically impossible not to like BLB. This one really delivers the goods: roasted nuts, cocoa, and dark chocolate, with buckets of that pipey aroma which burley is famous for. My wife always comments favorably: "Mmm, that smells aged." I'm not sure what that means, but there is some sort of down home, comforting aspect to it.

Another unusual feature is that it snorks really well. Unusual for burley, which stings more often than not. My guess is that they lower the pH of the burley by treating it with sugar, making it mellow like a Virginia.
