That's just the smoking lounge. Here are a couple of photos of the shop area:

This place is a treasure. It's one of the very best things about living in Birmingham.

Another PSF report from your front line correspondent Wicker Man
Isn’t it funny how we land at the supermarket for Mrs Wicker to go shopping
just as the afternoon play starts on the car radio and the Passatore Rubin is full of Wicker mix :msty:
Mrs Wicker was under orders to look for Corn Meal again as every shop we’ve tried all say it’s Hen food
No luck here but our, go to, Coffee was on offer, so added to our store
    [IMG]
the car lucky mascot Bear (right back to the Landrover days) talked to Nanook using Bear telepathy
who was back in the shed on R & D. He said try the Asian shop
    [IMG]
and Bingo ! I think it might have been a language thing all along because a few times we’d been offered Polenta but non of the packets had said anything about it was made from corn, this one did
    [IMG]
though on PSF I read it wasn’t Polenta ? any way I wait to be corrected and maybe a few recipes ?
In the mean time I’m going to try the one on the packet, stand by for a Grits-R-Us report

I'm out with my 4 year old, no pics but he's riding a bike and collecting leaves and stones while I'm smoking a McClelland bulk English blend in a cheap briar pipe. It's actually nice here, Spring has finally pushed in. I keep hiding on him and the smoke from my pipe keeps "accidentally" giving me away.

A few months ago you messaged me about how much you would like to visit the UK and check out all the B&Ms we have. I can assure that you are unlikely to find anything like this around here. Consider yourself lucky, and me very jealous!

Consider yourself very lucky. I used to see shops like that in NYC back in the day. They do not exist anymore.
Here in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey there is no place like that at all. There is a JR's but it's not like that at all.

    Thats
good enough to give you a taste. Herena means flour in spanish. What we use is course ground grits. Polenta is good, too, just softer. That on the bag looks like a proper recipe for you to try. Have fun.
